Pro40 Longboard Review from About.com http://skateboard.about.com/od/longboards/fr/FlexdeckPro40.htm The Flexdex Pro 40 Longboard Skateboard is made speed, cruising and
carving. The deck is a solid black material that they call “Gun Metal”,
as opposed to the usual wood design of other longboards. Flexdex Pro 40
longboard skateboards have a great flex (thus the name!), but are also
ridiculously strong. In fact, Flexdex brags that their boards are
run-over-proof, bullet proof, elephant proof, and anything-else proof. Read the full review... http://skateboard.about.com/od/longboards/fr/FlexdeckPro40.htm

Just a quick post to say OMG - who at Flexdex has been keeping up with the news on this page? There is way more going on regarding "news" about Flexdex in the social media than is posted here. We have a Facebook group and our own thread on Silverfish Longboarding's site. So until Uncle Ebone gets some time to fill in the news here, he does check in with those pages every few days...

Feb 20, 2009 - Tommy from Texas writes in about Clear 29's
I am writing to you guys to let you know of the rekindled passion I have for pounding the concrete with my old flexdex clear 29 board. Back in 2005/2006 I really got heavily involved into longboarding. Before that, I had never been able to ride a normal skateboard, but the way these boards ride helped me get my balance and before I knew it I was taking on some ridiculous hills and learning everything I could about skateboards. My interest, courage, and balls grew eventually to taking on pool skating. There was nothing like it. I went to the pool scene because I was too afraid to take on big hills after two friends both received concussions and broken arms. Little did I know that was all part of skating. So as a pussy skater I just wanted the thrill of surfing, and living in North Texas, the best thing I could do was take it to the pool. I am not good, not even average, I just ride around feeling that concrete underneath my skin as if it was the ocean. It was too much fun while it lasted. After collecting all the knowledge, settling on average riding skills, and spending too much for too many boards I decided to get back to working, and for the next 3 years thats all I did, work. But before I hung up the decks, I decided to dive in and get the most beautiful board I had ever laid eyes on, my baby, the flexdex clear 29, which I added just some normal 83a wheels and had to put on Randall R2 180's on. It was perfect. If not the smoothest riding board ever, it is definitely the most bad-ass, beautiful, awe-inspiring board I have ever had the pleasure to ride on. But alas, it was short lived. My baby never saw any hills or took any scratches, not even a nick was seen. I just couldn't bring myself to ruin her. And so she sat, waiting for three whole fucking years.
Now, being laid off thrice this past year has been devastating. With no money and a pile of debt, what is one to do? Well I got into a short program where I can be licensed to take x-rays and I actually finish next week, kudos to me. Hopefully this will be a stable job and not one that I put my heart into only to be laid off after a few months.
To get back on track, I have obviously had a shitload of down time to burn. And walking the dogs every other hour kind of gets old. So this story gets interesting with my best friend calling me and saying in the most excited voice ever, "Tommy! I want a LONGBOARD!" Coming out of left field I shot back, "Well, how much do you want to spend, what color, what kind of ride, what size?" He had know idea what I was talking about and told me he was only just inspired by his Hawaiian friend (who had came to visit) to ride, what he thinks is called, a "longboard". The next day he came over and we immediately set out on getting his legs used to actually riding a board. After a few hours of only riding up and down my street, he was determined, and asked for my help in building a good quality board. He shouldn't have, because I then commenced a speech that lasted another hour. All I could tell him was to not waste his money on anything else but a flexdex board. Inferencing only information I have read and studied on your website, and a little from what I learned about riding my own board, I have set him on his path to a better world, a flexdex world. It's a beautiful thing to be able to help my friend get out on that street. Hopefully you will be hearing from him shortly, he's wanting something huge so I told him of your 60 board coming out soon and the deal you have going on with that. And hopefully soon enough we will be taking on Texas's hills together.
IN short, this was a fucking long email that I hope makes some sense. Basically, I haven't ridden my flexdex clear 29 board in three years, picked it up recently, and am amazed and ashamed that I haven't been riding it my whole life. It's a great board, a great ride and a great feeling that permeate every inch of it's clear beauty. To be honest, great is NOT the word to describe your boards, best isn't either, heavenly is close, but I really don't think there is a word for your board, I mean after all, it's all about the ride. The ride is the one thing that sets your boards apart from every other one, and I hope that I can share my ride with every one I know, just to pass the word along, there is no other board except a flexdex board.
thanks for reading this whoever you are, you probably have more important things to do like selling more boards, but I just had to drop a line your way. if you guys are getting effected by this horrible economy I feel for you, three lay-offs later, I really do feel for you, but I also hope you realize that your boards are on a whole other level, and every rider who gets a flexdex board will know that, and thank you for that.
So thank you.

Xmas Present Doesn't Break - December 25, 2008
OK - we know Ebone tells all of you that the Black decks don't break - so here's a Xmas story from Sara P. You see, even SANTA knows to deliver Flexdex to the good kids.
My son received a Slalom 30 Ventilated Wall of Bots board from Santa this morning. Three hours into our day, Cole and his buddy Zach (both are 9 years old) were out riding when a car traveling about 40 MPH with the driver chatting on his cell nearly collided with Cole in our otherwise very quiet neighborhood. Good news is Cole jumped off his board and walked away without injury – bad news is his cool new board was run over and didn’t come out quite as lucky as Cole. The trucks cracked and the wheels are messed up BUT the deck is in perfect condition! Of course, it looks a little older than three hours but now it’s got great history! And believe it or not, that driver stopped, backed up and said Merry Christmas to them – he’s got to be the Grinch himself (I’ve actually got a few other names for him but it is Christmas so I’ll refrain!)
The really cool part is that Santa left Cole a note this year and this was a really important part: “… you will always have challenges in life so it’s your job to make the best of whatever comes your way. Have you ever heard the expression “turn lemons into lemonade”? That’s what I’m talking about – give it a try and see how much better life is!”
That Santa really is a magical dude…he sure helped us turn a frown into a (sorta) smile through the tears. I told the boys the “lemonade” today is that they are both safe and they have a really cool Christmas story! So, they wrote about it and wanted to send it to you along with some pictures.
Mom will be calling tomorrow about replacement parts. Thanks for the awesome product – Santa scored big this year!

12/7/06, San Diego CA Flexdex joins MySpace Just in case you didn't already know, make friends with Flexdex Skateboards on MySpace.com
11/18/06, San Diego, CA Flexdex announces the new 2007 lineup of Flexdex Skateboards. Here's what the founder, Ebone, has to say: "I have been working for the last year to develop a lighter and more responsive Flexdex composite. I did not want to compromise anything we had already acheived in the past 10 years. But - if I could figure a way out to increase the 'pop' of a flexdex, AND lighten them, I knew the ride would blow minds." Throughout the summer of 2006, Flexdex experimented with several versions. The chemists worked hard, and late, as a passionate Ebone demanded even more from his team. A new nylon fabric was incorporated into the mix of glass fibers, blends of resins and additives, and other undisclosable (but completely legal and highly regulated) substances. To distinguish this material from the last batch, Flexdex is making the 2007 material in BLACK. Note: Most of the Flexdex lineup come with additional pre-drilled mounting holes to change the way your board flexes and turns.
Flexdex is introducing what they call "Ride Technology" - or the RT series for certain models. The RT series use a combination of higher performing trucks, bearings, and wheels than the standard models - which frikkin rock by themselves. Specifics about what components are used in the RT versions are detailed in each product page.
Ebone says "It's like putting better wheels, shocks, tires on your vehicle to make it ride better - and in this case, it depends on the model. Short boards turn tighter using the Tracker RTS/X combination trucks - about 50% tighter. ALL RT boards use Biltin bearings for a smooth MF'ing ride. Then we picked the out the best wheels on the market while we are working on our OWN versions of new wheels for early-2008. All models are available in a Ride Technology version.
Flexdex is offering the Tracker RTS/RTX trucks separately for anyone wanting to upgrade their ride on an existing skateboard. Check the product pages for more specifics.
